Stars and celestial bodies are quite fascinating, especially for children, who tend to see them in a relatively different manner than grown-ups, adding a little bit of fantasy to their existence. And this is the reason why the people over at the Discovery Channel shop came up with the Star Theater V3, back in the second half of 2007, a device that can project the whole night sky onto the ceiling of just about any room.

According to the vendor, the device is actually capable of transforming any room into a 360-degree planetarium, since it projects hundreds of realistic stars and constellations on the walls and ceiling. Furthermore, the Star Theater V3 provides quite a high level of realism, since the star projection is accurate to season, month, day and hour.

The projector also includes a built-in liquid-filled compass and glow light feature, and is capable of accurately positioning most of the celestial bodies in the sky. Furthermore, the device is accompanied by a bonus DVD, namely the Universe 2001: Beyond the Millennium - Stars, which provides users with extra information regarding the celestial bodies.

The Star Theater V3 requires three AA batteries and three AAA batteries in order to work, and will occupy relatively little space around the user's home, since it measures just around 22.86 cm x 11.43 cm x 12.06 cm (9 x 4.5 x 4.75 inches), at a weight of just around 181.43 grams, although it comprises an entire galaxy, at least virtually.

The Star Theater V3 from Discovery Channel retails for around 25 US dollars, which is quite a small price to pay for such an item, considering just how educational it can prove to be, especially for those kids with a certain passion for the stars.
